HypoVereinsbank is part of UniCredit, a pan-European commercial bank. Our purpose is to Empower Communities to Progress. We make progress possible by offering our clients the best financial solutions worldwide, by supporting our employees in their growth and by helping communities and society as a whole to develop sustainably and fairly.
Join our team and take an active part in shaping the future!
We believe that creating added value means more than just creating financial value. We have made it our mission to operate sustainably and to promote the well-being of every individual. After all, as a bank, we play a key role in ecological transformation - This is where our sustainable finance approach comes into its own.
Social-impact banking represents our commitment to a fair and inclusive society. We identify, fund, and support businesses and organisations that invest in projects with a positive social impact. We want to be the impetus and supporter of change processes that improve our society.
Careers must not depend on one’s gender. This is why we are proud to be the only European bank to have achieved EDGE-certification - an award that underlines our commitment to gender and intersectional justice. But our commitment goes far beyond certifications: We are active advocates for gender equality and live it every day. From leadership tandems - an initiative from our gender-diversity programme - to gender-equitable and inclusive language, because language creates reality for us. Our diversity sponsors work with us to bring diversity into all areas of the bank.
Different generations work together at our bank. The combination of fresh perspectives and many years of experience enriches us in our daily work. We believe that equal care means taking into account our employees’ different needs and life situations - from childcare to social events and care services. In doing so, we not only take care of all our employees to the same extent, but also enable them to unlock their full potential. We have developed our generation tandems to strengthen communication and understanding between the generations.
We are a colourful, cosmopolitan and global working community. That is why we are committed to the ‘come-as-you-are’ principle - in every respect. We are convinced that when you feel comfortable and accepted, and can be completely yourself without pretending or hiding, you can unlock your true potential, and thus that of the entire bank. For this reason, we established our ‘UniCorns’ in 2014, a community of LGBTQIA+ colleagues and allies with the aim of creating a corporate culture in which all employees are valued, regardless of their sexual orientation and gender identity.
As part of the pan-European UniCredit Group, cultural and national diversity are a natural part of our DNA. We work across national borders and cultural boundaries to achieve a common Purpose: Empowering Communities to Progress. Within HypoVereinsbank alone, more than 80 different nationalities and cultural identities enrich our working relationship. This creates a diversity that not only promotes open-minded thinking and respectful and tolerant interaction, but also offers new perspectives and solutions through different cultural experiences and languages.
In accordance with our Purpose of Empowering Communities to Progress, inclusion and participation guide all that we do. Since 2020, we have been part of the ‘Valuable 500’, a global movement dedicated to putting disability on the corporate agenda. It is our goal to create a society in which people with and without disabilities simply work together barrier-free, employing their individual skills and talents and thus inspire each other. And true participation only works if all people are considered from the very start. For this reason, our job portal is completely accessible.
In line with our ambition to be the band for Europe’s future, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) considerations are a core part of our cultur and mindset. Sustainablity guides and informs every decision we make and all the actions we take. Only this way, we can fulfil our Purpose of Empowering Communities to Progress.
Our workplace also meets the requirements of a sustainable business strategy: The HVB Tower, our headquarters, is an energy-efficient green building. On completion of its renovation, it was awarded the ‘LEED Platinum’ certification in early 2016. Beyond that, 100% of the electricity used at our other locations in Germany is entirely generated from renewable sources.
In line with our commitment to a climate-friendly future, we are a member of the Net-Zero Banking Alliance (NZBA). As part of this alliance, initiated by the United Nations, we have committed to being a Net Zero company in terms of our own emissions by 2030 and our financed emissions by 2050 or earlier.
As of January 2023, we dispensed with single-use plastic at all UniCredit Group locations, making us a plastic-free bank. We have removed single-use plastic from more than 1,100 snack machines, 300 drinks vending machines and 60 canteens and cafeterias worldwide, saving >12 million plastic bottles every year. This shows how small changes make a big difference.
Supporting Germany’s businesses with excellent quality - That is what drives us. In Corporate Banking, we support the transformation to a more sustainable and future-oriented economy in all areas that really matter to businesses: digitisation, internationalisation, growth, sustainability and corporate succession. As a capital-rich full-service bank, we offer proactive, high-quality financial solutions and make an important contribution to society. Our personal, customer-centred service coupled with in-depth industry expertise in the relevant industrial sectors in Germany and local connections in the various regions, makes us a strong and strategic partner - from SMEs, the backbone of the German economy, to international corporations. In the Finance & Tax division, we sustainably ensure the financial success of the bank. By converting straightforward figures and data into key performance indicators (KPIs), we are able to effectively guide the bank, ensuring that all operational and strategic decisions are well-founded, that our information obligations towards our stakeholders are fulfilled, and that regulatory and tax requirements are met.
The business model of banks is to trade with risks, to use our equity capital in a risk-oriented, efficient manner and to thereby generate a sustainable contribution to the success of our bank. This means understanding the different types of risk, selecting the right risks based on sound analyses, measuring and managing them with a view to the future.
Our Digital division drives and manages the bank’s digital transformation, enabling our employees, clients and stakeholders to achieve their goals. In doing so, we focus on providing the best possible customer experience, simplifying and updating processes, and creating an attractive workplace for our employees. We achieve this by driving innovation through technology, making data usable and protecting it responsibly.
In the Operations division, we organise and control all of the company’s operating processes and thus ensure the bank’s operational performance. By identifying potential for improvement, we actively drive innovation and ensure that the organisation unlocks its full potential, both in the way our employees work (together) on a daily basis and in terms of the customer experience.
Banking is, and will remain, a people business. After all, HypoVereinsbank can only operate successfully in the market with motivated and high-performing employees. People & Culture is the bank’s strategic partner and pioneer for all human-resources matters. Every day, we develop talent, enable our employees to unlock their full potential, and shape the future of work in line with our cultural values of Integrity, Ownership & Caring.
In our Marketing division, we make a significant contribution to the sustainable growth of HypoVereinsbank by understanding our clients’ needs and consistently incorporating them into all our products, services and processes.
In our Communication division, we coordinate internal and external communications on the basis of the newsroom principle. With a 360-degree approach across all communication channels, we provide information about HypoVereinsbank’s products and services, strategic initiatives and other topics. Sustainability, as a key element of our business strategy, plays an important role in this. We also actively cultivate relationships with our stakeholders and protect the bank’s reputation.
Our Audit division is responsible for auditing and advising the entire bank on behalf of the board of directors. With our process-oriented and independent approach, we generate added value to the bank by analysing processes and projects and initiating successive improvements. We create transparency about existing risks and issues, analyse their causes and also consider the economic efficiency of the processes.
In the Legal division, we provide comprehensive legal services with customised, practice-oriented solutions. In doing so, we support the bank in unlocking its full potential and achieving its goals in the best way possible.
Our Compliance division ensures compliance with all applicable external laws and regulations as well as internal guidelines and standards. We manage compliance risks in a targeted manner and, by establishing a sustainable compliance culture, strengthen our entire organisation’s capacity to prevent issues before they even happen. This is how we help the bank unlock its full potential and achieve its goals.

Of course! We strongly believe in the benefits of a hybrid-working environment - One that combines flexibility and personal interaction.
That is why we not only offer you the opportunity, depending on your role, to work up to three days a week from home or any other location in Germany, but also the chance to work temporarily from another EU country.
If you would like to work remotely for a longer period of time, you can, after consultation with your manager, accumulate days of remote work over a period of up to three months and then take them all at once.
Sneakers and banking don’t go together? With us, they do!
We promote a culture of diversity and respect individuality in all areas - including our dress code. So feel free to come to the bank as you feel comfortable. We have no fixed rules about how our employees should look. That said, it is generally a good idea to wear a classic business outfit or business-casual clothing to deal with customers.
We see learning as a lifelong process and support you individually in your professional and personal development - during working hours or through continuing education. With comprehensive qualification measures, strategic and future-oriented development programs, or individual mentoring, we give your career real perspective.
Our offer includes trainings on leadership, self-management, communication, foreign languages, office management and IT qualifications, just to name a few. We invest in the training and development of our talents in a sustainable manner. Through our Talent-Management Program, we provide targeted support for talented professionals and managers at different stages of their careers, thus securing the next generation for all levels of management.
In addition, you can devote up to 3 hours per month of your working time to your personal development - be it design thinking, storytelling, mindfulness or time management, you decide!

At HypoVereinsbank, we believe in transparency. That is why we would like to inform you about our mandatory pre-employment screening.
Pre-employment screening is the verification of relevant information provided by an external applicant as part of the application process. The verification is carried out by the responsible employee (m/f/d) in HR in cooperation with our partner SIGNUM-CONSULTING. The process is carried out in compliance with all national and international data-protection guidelines and requires the candidate’s consent in advance.
It includes, among other things, the verification of the highest education qualification as well as the individual stations of the candidate’s career to date.
