The Supervisory Board of HypoVereinsbank (UniCredit Bank AG) today appointed Guglielmo Zadra as the new Chief Financial Officer. He will succeed Francesco Giordano on 1 October 2016, who takes up the position as Co-Chief Operating Officer within UniCredit Group.
Also appointed as new Management Board Member of HypoVereinsbank was Robert Schindler. His appointment was already made in the Supervisory Board meeting on 5 September 2016. As from 6 September 2016, he has taken over responsibility for the Unternehmer Bank (Corporate Banking), the second business unit besides the Private Clients Bank in the Commercial Banking business segment. Robert Schindler therewith succeeded Lutz Diederichs, who has resigned from the bank’s Management Board effective from 5 September 2016. Lutz Diederichs had decided to leave HypoVereinsbank after 27 years to take on a new challenge outside the bank. (Both changes were announced with the press release from 26 July 2016.)
Guglielmo Zadra (43) was most recently as Head of Group Credit and Integrated Risks of UniCredit Group responsible for risk management projects across all countries and legal entities of the Group. Amongst others this also included the EU wide stress tests in 2014 and 2016. He joined UniCredit in 2008 as Head of Group Planning, Strategy and Capital Management of the Group leading and expanding the function for 5 years until 2013. Guglielmo Zadra started his career at Ernst & Young in London two decades ago before he moved to Morgan Stanley in London in 2000 which he left as Executive Director in 2008. The US-born holds a degree in Business Administration from the Università La Sapienza, Rome, Italy.
Robert Schindler (52) has been working for HypoVereinsbank since 26 years and during this time held senior managerial positions. To date he was heading the business unit Unternehmer Bank in the Southwest of Germany and in this position has reported directly to Lutz Diederichs. In this function Schindler had responsibility for business relation to all companies in the region encompassing the federal states Hesse, Rheinland-Palatinate, Saarland und Baden-Wuerttemberg. Before that he was amongst others Head of Regional District Munich in the Corporate & Investment Banking business segment, Head of Key Accounts in the region Bavaria and Senior Banker in the division Markets and Investment Banking. Robert Schindler has started his career as corporate customer advisor at Bayerische Vereinsbank in Munich. He holds a degree in business administration (Diplom-Betriebswirt).
